Monocoque, French for single shell, is an engineering design term where the outer shell can carry the structural loads that are applied to it. Cooks bodies are based off this and don’t rely on an internal frame for their strength. While more expensive to design and build, Cooks CNC machinery and engineering experience mean all you see are the benefits of this approach:

• Lighter weight; as the outer shell provides the structure less material is needed less material equals less weight.
• Increased strength; this allows for greater strength in the body as we can target where to strengthen the shell ensuring there is no single point of failure that requires the whole frame to be increased in thickness or material, increasing weight.
• Greater durability; your body is a workhorse, a monocoque shell doesn’t have a thin piece of material your tools can damage and fly out, or adding more weight for no structural benefit.
